Cultural Gardens Parade (71st Annual One World Day)

Hello everyone!

Here is the latest information we have on the parade on Sunday from Jesse.  Disregard any previous information.  Please him know if you will be there, and if you can be part of the small group that will play at the Italian Garden for an additional hour to 90 minutes.

PARKING:
Langston Hughes Library
10200 Superior Ave.
Cleveland, OH 44106
Please be at the library by 10:30 am!

Note this is on the south side of Superior, just west of E105St.  The satellite view from google maps shows a small parking lot (15-20 cars?)  Please consider car pooling.

From this lot, there is a bus that will transport you and other parade members to the British Garden where you will line up for parade.

As the parade winds around and passes the Italian Garden on MLK on it’s way to the end of parade route, the 5-6 band members who will stay at the Italian Garden to play  will step out of the parade as it passes the lower level Italian Garden. The rest of the band continues to the end where they will be bussed back to the library parking lot.  The parade should start at noonish and end around 1pm.

The 5-6 band members will play at the Italian Garden lower level after the parade for an hour or so. After members done playing at Italian Garden, take the staircase on the lower level Italian Garden up to the top of the Italian Garden (East Blvd. level) and flag down one of the 13 seat golf carts to take you back to the British Garden where the bus will take you back to the Library Parking Lot.

The small group will leave the Italian Garden after playing around 2:30 pm so you have time to catch the golf cart on East Blvd. to transport you back to the British Garden where you catch the bus that takes you back to the Library Parking Lot. The bus to the British Garden only runs until about 3:15 pm.  ***Make sure you tell the bus driver when first coming that you need the bus to return later for you at the British Garden.

St. Rocco's San Nicola

Hello everyone!

Many thanks to everyone who made it out to the Feast last week-as always, we really appreciate it!  Jen Picciano from Channel 19 happened to be at one of the first houses we stopped at Sunday night, and posted a video of us playing to Facebook!  I posted them to our Facebook page, and I will try to post them here for the folks who are not on Facebook.

THIS SUNDAY!  August 21st is the San Nicola procession at St. Rocco's.  This is a very short procession around the church, followed by lunch and more playing!  Please arrive by 10:45am (no later than 11am).  Bring lyres, no stands.

If you haven't already, please let Jesse know if you can make it.

Hope to see you Sunday!

Feast, Night 2 Cancelled

Hello everyone!   Tonight's gig at the Feast has been cancelled due to bad weather.   Apologies to everyone-Mother Nature just did not want to cooperate tonight!

See you all tomorrow night at 6!

SCHEDULE CHANGE! St. Rocco's San Nicola

Hello everyone!

First of all, many thanks to everyone who came to the first night of the Feast, despite the less than ideal weather conditions!  We got a little rained on, but nothing we couldn't handle! The crowd loved us!

For those of you who couldn't make it last night and missed the announcement-there has been a slight change in our schedule.  San Nicola at St. Rocco's, which was originally scheduled for tomorrow morning, has been postponed until next Sunday, August 21st.   I will update our schedule page to reflect the change.

Hope to see you all tonight!

The Feast 2016!

Hi Everybody!

Just a reminder that the Feast of the Assumption starts tonight at 6pm at Holy Rosary!   According to Jesse, we will have a ready room in the school as usual, probably on the 2nd floor.

The rough schedule:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 6 pm -10 (ish)  Walk around the neighborhood, followed by a sit down concert, so bring both your lyres and stands.

Monday: Procession at 11 am, evening walk around and the closing candle-lit procession.  As usual, no sit down on the last night.  Lyres only!

If you haven't already done so, please let Jesse know what you can or cannot attend!

See you tonight!
