Lord of Miracles

Hello everyone!

This is just a quick reminder that we have our last gig of the season tomorrow!

This year the Peruvian procession will be at St. Michaels, starting after the noon mass. Please try to arrive by 12:45pm. Also, if you haven't done so already-please let Jesse know that you are coming-it always helps to know what kind of instrumentation we will have! :)

During the fall and winter months I hope to be able to do a little updating to the site. I have more information for our "About Us" and "History" pages, and I hope to do a few posts with more pictures from our 2011 jobs. Keep checking the site for updates!

See you tomorrow!
(Need directions to St. Michaels? Be sure to check out our 'Directions to Jobs' page!)

St. Rocco's!

Hello everyone!!!

If you are anywhere in the Cleveland area, you have probably heard the roar of the Blue Angels as they practice for the Air Show this weekend.

You know what that means, right?

Yes! It's also time for St. Rocco's annual festival! :)

We will be performing Saturday and Sunday this Labor Day weekend. Evenings starting at 7 pm, and Sunday afternoon at 1 for the procession. Please arrive by 6:30 for the evening performances, and 12:30 for the procession, so we can hand out music.

Also of note, City Officials will be at St. Rocco's Sunday afternoon to dedicate a portion of Fulton Road to the memory of Salvatore Calandra (known to most of us in the band simply as "The Judge"), who passed away on August 1st.

(The Judge, leading the pots and pans procession during the San Nicola celebration in 2010 :) )

Yes, I know, I have pictures of him marching away-I was playing when I took these-there was a short break in the music which allowed me to get the shot, but unfortunately, he was already walking past!

Hope to see you at St. Rocco's this weekend!!

A reminder, a schedule change, and a thanks!

August 15th Procession, Little Italy

The Feast 2011

First of all, a big THANK YOU! to all those who were able to make it to the Feast this weekend!!!  It's one of our toughest jobs, and we really appreciate all the help we can get!  Fr. Racco even stopped by as we were lining up for the evening procession to say he had been hearing all weekend long how wonderful  we sounded!  The weather even cooperated-for the most part, anyway.   We were rained out of our sit down concert Sunday evening, but the rain led to cooler temperatures for the procession Monday morning!

We're not done yet!!  Just a reminder that we are at Saint Rocco's this Sunday for the San Nicola procession around the church starting at about 11 am. Hope to see you there!

Also, there has been a slight change to the schedule. The Lord of Miracles procession at St. Michael's is Sunday, October 2nd. (NOT the 9th!!) Be sure to mark the change in your calendars!

The Feast, 2011

Just a reminder-the Feast of the Assumption starts tomorrow!!!  We will be playing Friday-Monday.

The (rough) schedule: Friday/Saturday/Sunday: neighborhood walk-about starts at 6pm, with a sit down concert starting around 8:15pm (don't forget your music stands!!!)

Monday's schedule: Morning procession, starting around 11am.  Monday even we start around 6pm (neighborhood walk-about), followed by the evening procession, starting sometime after 9pm.  (There will be fireworks!) ;)

(getting ready for the evening procession, Day Four)

Since my last couple of posts have lacked pictures, I thought I would share a few(more)  from the Feast last year.  (Yes, there are quite a few-this is the biggest gig of the season, after all. ;) )

Mt. Carmel 2011 Festival

Hi everyone!

Don't forget we play at Mt. Carmel tonight and tomorrow afternoon!

We start tonight at 6pm, so please try to arrive by 5:45 so you can get your music (and yes, we will probably be playing 118!) We will play throughout the neighborhood until about 8:30.

The procession starts at 12:45 tomorrow, so please try to arrive by 12:30. It's going to be a warm one, so be sure to drink plenty of water. Don't forget your sunscreen!!

There will be no sitdown concerts in the evenings, so no need to bring your stands. However, lyres are recommended. Don't forget your lyres!

See you tonight!!

Shore Acres-TIME CHANGE!!

Hi Everyone!

Don't forget we are performing at the 4th of July Parade at Shore Acres tomorrow!!

There are two very important changes-first of all-the time! The time posted on the schedule page was incorrect-the parade actually starts at 11:15 am, so please try to be there by 11.

Also, instead of our normal black and white, we will be wearing comfortable clothing! ;) We will be wearing red, white and blue! Shorts, sneakers and t-shirts are okay, just be sure whatever you wear is red, white, or blue (or all three!)

Don't forget your lyres!

If you haven't already done so, please contact Jesse to let him know you are coming.

For your enjoyment, here's a picture from last year:

Hope to see you tomorrow!

Good Friday

Hello everyone!!

It's almost time for our first gig. The Good Friday procession is this Friday starting at 6:30 pm at St. Rocco's. Please try to arrive by 6:15 pm.

Right now the weather is calling for a chance of rain, with the temps in the 50s, so be sure to bring a dark jacket to wear with your usual attire (black pants (or skirts for the ladies), shoes, white shirt and black tie(for the men)).

As in previous years, we will probably go out for a nice meal afterwards.

Hope to see you there!

Welcome, 2011!

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope everyone had a nice safe and relaxing break. :)

For those of you on our email list-don't forget tomorrow is our annual Italian Band Winter Party! Be sure to let Wayne know you are coming. :)

I've updated our schedule for 2011. Yes, there is only one date right now-Good Friday! Don't worry, the rest of the schedule will be posted after Easter, once the schedule is complete. This year I will probably be adding a page for directions to our usual gigs.

Also in the future-I haven't given up hope of creating a page for the history of the band. Speaking of updates, is there anything you would like to see on this site? Sound off in the comments! :)

Hope to see you in 2011!!
