San Nicola 2012

Hello everyone!

Many thanks to everyone who has shown up for the Feast so far!  Only one night left!

Just a reminder, we have a small procession at St. Rocco's this Sunday (San Nicola) starting at 11 am.  If you are able to make it, please arrive early so you have time to get your music!

Parking will be available in St. Rocco's parking lot-however, Fulton Road is still a mess.  Best to take the back road (W. 33rd Street, behind the church).

Hope to see you there!

The Feast 2012!!

It's that time of year again!!!  The Feast of the Assumption at Holy Rosary in Little Italy!

Here's the skinny:

August 15th: Procession at 11 am.   Get there very early-parking is very limited.   Bring water and expect a 2 hour procession.  Don't forget your lyres!

Evenings: August 15th-17th.  6 to about 10:15 pm.   From 6 to 7:30 we will be strolling the neighborhood.  After a break, we will set up in front of the school for concert sets (with breaks) and play until about 10:15 pm.   Don't forget your music stands!!!

August 18th: 6-7:30pm strolling the neighborhood, followed by the closing procession Saturday night.  We shouldn't need our stands, but it might be handy to keep them around, just in case.  (We can always leave them in the ready room if they are not needed).

We should have our usual ready room on the 3rd floor of the school (next to the church).  Meet up there, leave your cases and grab your music, etc.

Parking will be difficult throughout the Feast-so be sure you leave enough time to park and get your music!

As always, be sure to let Jesse know if you can or cannot attend each night.

Thank you!!!  See you there!

Holy Redeemer (Collinwood Celebration)

Hello everyone!!!

Just a reminder that we will be back at Holy Redeemer this Sunday for a procession for their Collinwood Celebration. :)

Lyres only!  Also-it will be hot, so don't forget water and sunblock!

BTW, did you know that the Italian Band first got it's start 100 years ago in Collinwood?  Check out the photo on our history page.  Wouldn't it be neat if we took a group picture in front of Holy Redeemer?  You know I'll have a camera! ;)

See you Sunday!
