4th of July!!!!

Hello everyone!

First of all, a big Thank You! to those who were able to make it to the wedding at Holy Rosary and St. Anthony's procession at Holy Redeemer-we really appreciate you being there! :)

Next up-the Fourth of July parade at Shore Acres!   Step off will be at 9:45 am!

REMEMBER - DRESS IS RED, WHITE AND BLUE.
Shorts are okay, especially since it will be hot.
Any color combination will do - white shirt, blue shorts, whatever, just be festive.

Hello everyone!!

This is just a friendly reminder that we are playing 2 gigs this weekend! 

Saturday: Wedding at Holy Rosary.  Please be there by 11:45 am-we start playing at noon.

Sunday: St. Anthony procession at Holy Redeemer.  Please be there by 11:15 am-the procession starts around 11:30.

For directions, check out the Directions to Jobs   tab.  (Also, if you have suggestions for better directions to jobs, please feel free to email them to me!  I am, after all, a non-driver. ;) ).

Events this weekend!

 Hello everyone!  We have 2 gigs this weekend!   

The first is not currently listed in the schedule online-a friend of the band asked us to play at a wedding this Saturday (June 9th) at Holy Rosary in Little Italy.   We start at noon, but please be there no later than 11:45 am.  Bring lyres-no music stands.  We will be playing outside the church and then making a very short procession over to Nido Italia where we will continue to play for a little while.

 

 Then Sunday (June 10th)  is the St. Anthony procession at Holy Redeemer in Collinwood.  Please be there by 11:15am, and the procession should start around 11:30am.  Don't forget your lyres!

2012 Schedule is here!

Hello everyone!

First of all, a big 'THANK YOU!' to everyone who came to St. Rocco's on Friday for the procession! We really appreciate you all being there. :)

Our new schedule is out for the summer of 2012! Check out http://italianbandofcleveland.blogspot.com/p/schedule.html for dates and times of each job.

Also of note for St. Rocco- since construction on Fulton Road is on going, some adjustment may need to be made for directions. I will try to update the blog before each job at St. Rocco's, so keep an eye on the blog or any emails from Jesse.

I also hope to be adding other updates to the site soon. Keep your fingers crossed! ;)

Good Friday, 2012!

Hello everyone!

It's been a long time! Hope everyone's been practicing! ;)

Our first gig of 2012 is this Friday at St. Rocco's! Step off for the Good Friday procession is at 6:30 pm, so please arrive at the church by 6:10 pm.

There is some major construction happening on Fulton Road, so we will be meeting by the Day Care Center behind St. Rocco's, rather than in the front. Traffic is currently southbound only, so here are some driving suggestions from Jesse:

I-71 to W25th St exit

take W25th St north, past Metro General Hospital

turn left on Meyer, go several blocks
turn right on W 33rd St (this is the street behind the church)

park in the school parking lot or across the street

If you miss Meyer, continue north on W25th to Clark Ave
then its a left on Clark, and a left onto W33rd.

The Indians do not play on Friday, so that's one less traffic headache!

Lord of Miracles

Hello everyone!

This is just a quick reminder that we have our last gig of the season tomorrow!

This year the Peruvian procession will be at St. Michaels, starting after the noon mass. Please try to arrive by 12:45pm. Also, if you haven't done so already-please let Jesse know that you are coming-it always helps to know what kind of instrumentation we will have! :)

During the fall and winter months I hope to be able to do a little updating to the site. I have more information for our "About Us" and "History" pages, and I hope to do a few posts with more pictures from our 2011 jobs. Keep checking the site for updates!

St. Rocco's!

Hello everyone!!!

If you are anywhere in the Cleveland area, you have probably heard the roar of the Blue Angels as they practice for the Air Show this weekend.

You know what that means, right?

Yes! It's also time for St. Rocco's annual festival! :)

We will be performing Saturday and Sunday this Labor Day weekend. Evenings starting at 7 pm, and Sunday afternoon at 1 for the procession. Please arrive by 6:30 for the evening performances, and 12:30 for the procession, so we can hand out music.

Also of note, City Officials will be at St. Rocco's Sunday afternoon to dedicate a portion of Fulton Road to the memory of Salvatore Calandra (known to most of us in the band simply as "The Judge"), who passed away on August 1st.

Yes, I know, I have pictures of him marching away-I was playing when I took these-there was a short break in the music which allowed me to get the shot, but unfortunately, he was already walking past!
